HOLISTIC ASSESSMENT FOR PR ONE TERM 2 2013

RE: PRIMARY 1 HOLISTIC ASSESSMENT 2013
  • The key recommendation for Holistic Assessment is to shift the focus of assessment towards building pupils’ confidence and the desire to learn in both the academic and non-academic areas. From recommendations made in conjunction with professional feedback and advice from curriculum leaders, we have refined our assessment practices to reflect this emphasis.

  • To ease the transition for pupils into formal school, Semestral Assessments 1 and 2 (SAs) at Primary 1and Semestral Assessment 1 (SA1) at Primary 2will be replaced by Holistic Assessment.

  • Besides pen-and paper testing, our school will also adopt multiple assessment modes. Teachers will use information from assessment to improve teaching and practices to enhance pupils’ learning. Holistic reporting is also adopted to provide a more comprehensive picture of your daughter’s progress and learning throughout the year.
